The Fanatic?
Who would have thought of pragmatism's recent origins
That the American's want to impress their thought
on our previous century
would continue to carry such weight
That they take to task what they label dogmatic thought's curse
Based upon their unsaid assumptions
Of prior centuries, and their past philsophers
And within the same breath,
Would want for you to ignore their's.
that they make "rational" the want for
more of the same
That their vested interest offer no change
Scraps from the Dinner table,
where the people have no seat
But grovel at their manicured feet
That is pragmatisms want, need and abiding thought
But for us, who believe in Prophets sent
We know that revolutionary zeal
Is when partnered with a true faith,
Not a zealots dream.
But is made of the people whose
Hearts have not been tarnished by covetous wealth
Nor hardered by trials, heaped high, heaped
Nor weakened by knowing that the rosd is long and hard
That on any other would have broken our spines.
But our hearts know only the giving
that we be for the people, and not those few
Who would frame the question, set the measure
And then allow an incremental movenment
that never would a serious challenge make
two parties all the same
condemning us to more state control
But we will never bow before those few,
Nor that "rationalist" idea,
The Pramatist's lie.
That would have us bound neck, hand and foot
We will cut those feters free
For God enlivened us with a belief, sure.
That no jail of men can hold
And our freedom we will shout from it's ramparts
That will England make once more, brazenly bold.
